Permanent laser hair removal can be used to remove hair from almost any part of the body, including the face, arms, legs, back and bikini line.
Dermato Aesthetic Clinic – Paris, 16rd
Permanent laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses laser technology to remove unwanted hair.
The principle of permanent laser hair removal consists of destroying the germ cells of the hair using a light beam emitted by a laser.
The target of this beam is the melanin contained in the hairs. This laser beam penetrates the skin to destroy the hair and its structures, in particular the stem cells and the bulb by thermal effect. This is called selective photothermolysis. The hair is then destroyed at its root and will no longer grow: hence the “permanent” nature of laser hair removal.
Permanent laser hair removal can be used to remove hair from almost any part of the body, including the face, arms, legs, back and bikini line.
Permanent hair removal is all the more effective if the treatment begins after puberty. From this age, for the vast majority of patients, laser hair removal gives results which considerably improve patient comfort (80 to 95% of terminal hairs destroyed). Please note, laser hair removal is never complete (with rare exceptions).
Laser hair removal works best on dark hair, it is less effective on blonde, white and fuzzy hair because they contain little or no melanin. In summary we can say that depending on age and the area treated, it destroys 80 to 95% of the hair present in 8 to 10 sessions.
Laser hair removal is a treatment considered safe and effective. However, it is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Laser hair removal may pose a risk of slight burning and pigmentation disturbances in dark-skinned people, who have more sensitive skin. However, this risk is minimal if you carry out your treatment with an experienced practitioner who has a laser precise enough to cover all skin types.
Consult a qualified healthcare professional before considering permanent hair removal treatment.
Permanent hair removal is carried out in the clinic using a high-precision laser to target the hair follicles.
At Renécia, we use laser Clarity II from the Lutronic brand, for its ability to adapt to all skin types, even the most fragile, and for its superior speed to all other machines on the market.
Thanks to its wider beam, it allows a larger area to be treated at once and reduces the total treatment time required.

Before your session (ideally the day before), you must shave the areas to be treated, so that the laser can remove the hair.
To avoid pain linked to the heating action of the laser, you can be prescribed a local anesthetic cream based on Lidocaine by your doctor. Apply the cream in a thick layer 45min-1h before your session.
At the start of your session, the practitioner identifies the area to be treated. He then calibrates the machine, then passes the laser beam centimeter by centimeter over the skin, so as to cover the entire area.

faq
The price of permanent laser hair removal varies depending on the area to be treated and the number of sessions required.
The number of sessions varies depending on skin type, hair cycle, hair growth, age and the area to be waxed. On average, 6 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks minimum and 12 weeks maximum, will be necessary to permanently eliminate 80% of the hair present in an area. The younger the patient, the greater the number of sessions.
In general, you should count:
The number of sessions is estimated and depends on each person's reaction but also on the level of requirements of each patient. Laser hair removal is not complete; at the end of the treatment, fine, light hair remains.
A more precise estimate of the number of sessions is given during the prior consultation which is essential. It depends above all on the area treated, age, gender and skin color but also on the expected results. The number of sessions required is greater in young women before the age of 25, in those with a hormonal problem (polycystic ovaries), or in those who have interrupted their antiandrogen treatment (androcur®, diane®, jasmine® , aldactone®).
Men and patients with dark skin require more sessions than women for a satisfactory result. Finally, hair removal in certain areas (forehead, neck, sideburns, cheekbone) may require a large number of sessions (undetermined).
Laser hair removal is never complete, especially on the bikini area, which will always require some touch-ups. Although laser hair removal can be expensive initially, it is a profitable investment in the long term which allows you to avoid expensive hair removal sessions at the beautician.
However, laser hair removal remains an effective method for lasting hair removal of 90% of hair.
Permanent laser hair removal can cause some side effects, such as redness or burning, if the laser is poorly calibrated. However, the risk of burns is very rare when laser hair removal is carried out by an experienced practitioner, who adjusts the calibration of the machine according to the nature of the skin to be treated. Indeed, dark skin is more sensitive than white skin and therefore requires more precise lasers to avoid the risk of depigmentation.
Since hair growth is hormone-dependent, it is recommended to wait until the end of puberty before proceeding with permanent laser hair removal.
Before this period, hormonal changes could lead to the regrowth of hair destroyed by the laser. However, people who have a lot of disabling hair growth have the option of starting laser treatments as early as adolescence. In this case, the sessions are carried out with the aim of restoring normal sociability. The number of sessions is then uncertain.
