Axillary hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating in the armpits, can be treated by botulinum toxin injection.
The doctors at the Renécia dermato-aesthetic clinic only treat axillary hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating in the armpits.
The results are visible very quickly (3 days after the procedure) and are maintained in the patient for at least 6 months after treatment.
The risks of side effects are few and reversible: small bruises or small redness.
You can return to a normal pace of life immediately after treatment. However, it is not recommended to do sports or expose yourself to high heat during the 2 days following the treatment (e.g. sauna, hammam, etc.).
Botox injection® to treat axillary hyperhidrosis is a relatively simple procedure.
Botulinum toxin is administered to the patient by subcutaneous injection. The doctor defines the area to be treated before the injection then injects the product every 3 millimeters.
It generally takes two ampoules of Botox® to cover the entire underarm area.
Before considering a treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis by injection of botulinum toxin, you will meet a doctor from the Renécia dermato-aesthetic clinic, in order to identify the areas to be treated and define your objectives.
A 24-hour reflection period must then be respected before starting your treatment.
Once this period has passed, we welcome you back to the clinic for your session.
This begins with a demarcation of the area by the doctor. Then, he will carry out multiple intradermal injections in the area to be treated, while respecting a meticulous grid of points spaced approximately 1,5 to 2 cm apart.
An anesthetic cream may be applied 1 hour before the treatment to make it painless.

The treatment of hyperhidrosis is done by injection of botulinum toxin into the area to be treated.
Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin that blocks muscle receptors on nerve fibers when injected into muscles in the skin. When this treatment is carried out by a dermatologist, it allows the patient to return to a more normal life while avoiding the discomfort caused by hyperhidrosis.
People suffering from axillary hyperhidrosis may experience:
