What is photorejuvenation?
In aesthetic medicine, the laser photorejuvenation is a non-invasive facial treatment technique using strong light to treat, correct and improve the texture of the skin and its pigmentation (particularly brown spots, known as old age spots). It also reduces fine lines.
With age and repeated exposure to the sun, the renewal of your skin cells slows down. The direct consequence is that your skin becomes dull. Dark spots, fine lines and other symptoms related to aging skin begin to appear.
These symptoms of skin aging are very often located on the face, neck, and also on the neckline and on the hands. In photorejuvenation, strong light is pulsed onto the areas you wish to treat. This will allow – without damaging the surface of the skin – to heat the latter to stimulate the production of collagen without triggering the healing process. In addition, disseminated pigment deposits and brown spots linked to aging will be one of the main targets of this light.
Photorejuvenation results
The photorejuvenation laser results are quickly visible. From the first sessions, you will notice an improvement in the texture of your skin and your complexion will be more radiant.
Laser IPL treatments can also help reduce the signs of aging, including the appearance of fine lines, solar lentigo and age spots. They can also improve small acne scars and tighten pores.
These improvements are more and more visible after each laser session. You will obtain clearer, softer, more luminous skin and above all a more harmonious complexion.
Photorejuvenation is a safe and effective way to achieve a more youthful appearance without the need for surgery or other invasive procedures. If you are looking for a way to refresh your appearance, laser treatment is an ideal solution.
Indications and contraindications to photorejuvenation
This procedure can be used to treat a variety of issues, including spots, sun damage, and uneven skin tone. Although laser photorejuvenation is generally safe and effective, there are some contraindications to be aware of before treatment. It is important to consult a qualified doctor first to ensure that the treatment is right for you.
First of all, laser photorejuvenation is not recommended for people with tanned skin, as the laser light can cause unwanted pigmentation changes.
Photorejuvenation technique
The devices used for this treatment are lasers which use so-called IPL technology, pulsed light laser (Intense Pulse Light). This technology can be used to treat various skin problems, including skin aging.
IPL devices emit pulses of light that are absorbed by specific targets in the skin, such as melanin (the pigment that gives skin its color). This helps break down the pigment and improve the appearance of the skin.
At Renécia, we use laser DermaV from Lutronic multi-applications for our photorejuvenation treatments.

The progress of a photorejuvenation session in Paris
Before any laser session, a first appointment with a practitioner will be necessary in order to identify your needs and determine the most suitable protocol.
Following a 24-hour reflection period, you will be admitted to our clinic again for your first session.
First, the doctor begins by cleaning your skin. Treatment areas must be free of any makeup. We advise you to come without makeup. The doctor then applies a layer of fresh gel to the areas that will be treated. The treatment is carried out using a handpiece. The depth of action and the intensity of the light are controlled by a program varying the energy emitted, the density of the light spot, its repetition, its fluence, etc.
