Superficial peeling Paris
Dermato Aesthetic Clinic – Paris, 16rd
What is a superficial peel?
A peel is a facial cosmetic treatment which helps reduce aging marks (wrinkles, fine lines), acne scars and pigment spots thanks to an exfoliating product.
There are two types of peels: superficial peeling and the medium peel.
Un superficial peeling is a type of facial treatment that uses a fruit acid solution to improve the complexion by exfoliating the most superficial layer of the skin. This is a less aggressive alternative to a medium or deep peel, and can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and sun damage.
The first results appear from the first session, but a program of several sessions may be recommended for better results depending on the type of problem encountered.
Results of a superficial peel
Le superficial peeling helps improve fine lines, acne scars and fade spots. It allows you to obtain smooth, radiant, rejuvenated skin, tightened pores and a more even, luminous complexion.
The continuation of the treatment is simple and allows the immediate resumption of activities, despite the occurrence of redness or fine crusts that are easily camouflaged. The patient can apply foundation to their skin the day after treatment.
Treatment generally consists of several sessions, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. Results may vary, but most people see a noticeable improvement in the texture and tone of their skin.
Indications and contraindications to a surface peel
Superficial peels are particularly aimed at acne-prone, smoking or tired skin.
Superficial peeling is generally carried out in winter. It can be performed on tanned skin, but the patient must avoid all exposure to the sun during the week following the treatment.
Superficial peeling should not be performed on a patient with a skin infection.
It is also contraindicated for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Technique used for superficial peeling
Superficial peels are made from fruit or plant extracts (most commonly AHA or fruit acids). They eliminate the superficial layers of the epidermis and stimulate the production of collagen.
The active ingredient concentrate is applied to the defined area using a brush.
The procedure of a superficial peeling session in Paris
An initial consultation with a doctor from our clinic is essential to determine the right treatment and define a suitable care protocol. After a 24-hour reflection period, you can return to our clinic to have your first session.
Superficial peeling is a lighter procedure than medium peeling, and therefore does not require special preparation.
At the start of the session, the practitioner begins by removing makeup and cleansing the skin. After protecting sensitive areas such as the corners of the mouth or the sides of the nose using a protective cream, the doctor applies the concentrate of exfoliating active ingredients to the area to be treated using a brush.
A superficial peeling session lasts around thirty minutes. It is not painful and does not require anesthesia.

What is a superficial peel?
A superficial peel is a treatment for skin imperfections which aims to restore a luminous complexion and unified skin. It consists of applying an exfoliating solution to the skin which eliminates dead cells and stimulates cell regeneration.
What are the risks of a superficial peel?
Superficial peeling is a treatment that presents little risk.
One of the main risks of peeling is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which leads to the appearance of brown spots on the treated skin. This side effect is more likely to occur in people with a matte phototype during a medium peel.
Superficial peels may cause mild skin irritation, redness and slight tingling. These side effects are usually temporary and disappear within a few days. However, if you experience severe pain or burning sensation, you should contact your dermatologist immediately.
What are the different types of peels?
There are two types of peels:
- Superficial peeling, which uses a milder concentration of acids, such as glycolic acid or linoleic acid, to remove the superficial layers of the epidermis.
- The medium peel, which uses a chemical solution of trichloroacetic acid to remove the superficial layers of the epidermis down to the dermis.
Is superficial peeling effective?
Superficial peeling is an effective treatment to reduce the appearance of facial imperfections, such as fine lines, acne marks or spots. It helps restore a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance to the face. However, it may require several sessions depending on the type of imperfection to be treated.
