Indications and contraindications to rhinoplasty

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a relatively safe treatment. However, as with all medical procedures, it can cause some side effects. The most common side effects are temporary and include bruising, swelling, and pain at the injection site. These usually disappear within a few days.

The main contraindication to medical rhinoplasty is in people suffering from an autoimmune disease. Indeed, the injection of hyaluronic acid into the skin presents a risk of inflammation and can therefore cause complications in these people.

Rhinoplasty technique

Medical rhinoplasty should be performed by a qualified specialist.

The injection of hyaluronic acid into the nose is done using a fine needle and by means of several superficial punctures at regular intervals on the area concerned.

The doctor begins by administering a bolus injection (a small ball) at the bridge of the nose, then uses a retrograde injection technique to cover the area with a grid of needles. The product is injected just as the needle is about to exit the skin, allowing for a thin, even layer of product to be applied to the area. It is also possible to lift the tip of the nose by applying a small, clamp-like motion starting from the tip.

Procedure of a rhinoplasty session

Before considering a medical rhinoplasty , you will meet with a doctor from the Renécia dermato-aesthetic clinic, who will present the treatment to you and define with you the areas to be treated and your objectives.

A 24-hour reflection period is then mandatory before starting your treatment. Once this period has passed, we welcome you back to the clinic for your session.

After delineating the area, the doctor will inject using small needles into the area to be treated.

Depending on the need, the treatment lasts between 15 to 30 minutes.

If you wish, an anesthetic cream can be applied 1 hour before the session.
